Smallest bike, biggest heart
Zoë is racing on the smallest bike, but she definitely had the biggest heart! In the first race, she got 3rd place after a late overtake by the 2nd place rider. She lost 2nd place by barely 1 second. However, she took her revenge in the main race with a bold overtake in the final corner to end up getting 2nd place by over 2.5 seconds. It was an outstanding performance from Dear Racing’s smallest rider.
A bittersweet race weekend
That evening, I put the rain tires on the bike with Alvaro. I opened a bottle of wine. Poured a glass for me and Jessica and sat outside in the cold under our Beta Tools work lights on the artificial grass I brought for our camp “backyard.” Leo’s dad stopped by and we listened to much on our outdoor speaker and I poured a glass of wine for him as well.
